You know what I love about Facebook? My cousins and their status updates. It’s not unlike a visit home — unrelated things being shouted about simultaneously, all in one (loud) place. Yep, all I need now is to eat until I’m sick and FB really is just one big ol’ Greek holiday.

Over before it started.
Hey there guy who desperately tried to not let me in your lane. I have an ‘04 Mazda. Well-loved, but well-dinged. You have some sort of fancy Lexus. And it’s in rather pristine condition. Did you really think I wasn’t going to win our little battle?

“…But as far as what soothes me, what inspires and moves me, honesty behooves me to tell you your rage doesn’t move me. See, like the darkest of clouds my heart has a silver lining, which does not harken to the loudest whining, but beats and stirs and grows ever more when I learn of the things you’re actually for.
That’s why I’m for best friends, long drives, and smiles, nothing...

Lots of times, I type something as a (very possibly snarky) comment on Facebook, but don’t pull the trigger on actually posting it. The time before clicking the button offers a moment that I seem to use for self-censorship. Wouldn’t it be swell if I had to click before I could say things in real life?

A nice break from a grownups-only world
Today at work, I received a handwritten letter from a “forth grader” at an elementary school in Missouri, requesting information about Columbus for his social studies project. It opens with “Dear Irene, Hello how are you?” and it’s signed “Your friend,” all in carefully penned cursive (in pencil).
How can you not love kids?

Lessons learned by trying to sell a house, volume...
You will be hyper-vigilant about organization. You’ll succumb to unnatural ideas about “a place for everything and everything in its place.” As a result, you will be unable to find anything when you need it.

You will clean everything incessantly, whether it needs it or not. If you pass through a room with an extra moment on your hands, you will shine up every object in sight. I don’t even know who I am anymore. (Can you use Murphy’s oil soap on a cat?)
